Four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka made a striking return to the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Monday for the 2026 Wimbledon championships. Stepping onto Court 3, Osaka debuted a walk-on ensemble designed by Tokyo-based designer Hana Yagi, which synthesized traditional Japanese ceremonial attire with modern athletic aesthetics.
According to WWD, the outfit featured a traditional furisode—a formal kimono style characterized by long, swinging sleeves—reimagined with ornate embroidery and a wide white obi sash. To balance the historical elements with contemporary fashion, Yagi incorporated a tiered, semi-sheer tulle skirt that trailed behind the athlete during her entrance. Beneath the decorative walk-on layer, Osaka wore a standard white Nike tennis dress, ensuring compliance with Wimbledon’s strict monochrome dress code.
The look was completed with a delicate floral hair ornament. This appearance marks the latest collaboration in Osaka’s 2026 season strategy, following high-profile walk-on designs by Robert Wun at the Australian Open and Kevin Germanier at the French Open. The 2026 Wimbledon tournament, which runs through July 12, also features the title defenses of Jannik Sinner and Iga Świątek, alongside the continued professional return of Serena Williams.
