The Defense Casualty Analysis System data, published Sept. 29, follows the White House announcement on May 5 that Operation Epic Fury had officially concluded amid regional ceasefires and operational shifts.

Breakdown of Casualties and Incidents

The reported fatalities span several distinct incidents across the Middle East. Capt. Bianca C. Wilkerson, 37, of Norfolk, Virginia, died on Sept. 18 after suffering a medical emergency while flying to the region, according to the U.S. Army and *The Washington Post*. Additionally, three U.S. Army soldiers were killed in action in July during an Iranian missile and drone attack at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan: 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas; and Sgt. Angel S. Rampersad, 28, of Ozone Park, New York. A fifth fatality occurred on July 19, when Sgt. Michael Emmanuel Swinton, 30, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, was killed while working to detonate a downed drone at Erbil Air Base in Iraq.
