Queen Rania of Jordan has shared the first official portraits of her twin granddaughters, marking the family’s latest expansion. The photographs, released on August 17, 2026, feature King Abdullah and Queen Rania alongside their daughter, Princess Iman, and her husband, Jameel Alexander Thermiotis, following the birth of the twins on August 14.

The Royal Hashemite Court confirmed the names of the newborns as Talia and Rania, with the latter named in honor of her maternal grandmother. In the official portraits, the King and Queen are seen cradling the infants, accompanied by their younger children, Princess Salma and Prince Hashem. The arrival of the twins brings the total number of granddaughters for the King and Queen to four, following the birth of Princess Iman to Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa in 2024.

Princess Iman, 29, is the second eldest child of the royal couple. She married Mr. Thermiotis, a Venezuelan-born financier, in 2023 at the Beit Al-Urdon Palace. The couple welcomed their first child, Amina, in 2025. While these new additions expand the Hashemite family, they do not alter the line of succession, as Jordan’s current laws mandate that the crown passes through male heirs.
