A New Attacking Option for Arsenal
Arsenal Women have officially completed the signing of German forward Selina Cerci from Hoffenheim on a free transfer. The 26-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the club, which includes an option for an additional season, as confirmed by the club’s official announcement.
Cerci arrives in north London as a critical reinforcement for head coach Renee Slegers, particularly following the departure of Beth Mead to Manchester City. With 34 goals in 47 appearances over her last two seasons at Hoffenheim, Cerci brings a proven track record of clinical finishing to the Emirates Stadium.
Tactical Fit and Strategic Ambitions
The signing is part of a broader recruitment strategy by Arsenal to challenge for their first Women’s Super League title since 2019. Slegers noted that Cerci’s physical presence, work ethic, and goalscoring instinct make her an ideal fit for the squad. The addition of the Germany international, who will wear the number 29 shirt, provides the coaching staff with the flexibility to deploy a two-striker formation alongside existing forwards Alessia Russo and Stina Blackstenius.
