Homicide Investigation Underway in Central Fresno

Fresno Police are investigating a homicide following a fatal shooting in a Central Fresno neighborhood, according to KFSN. The incident occurred just after 6 p.m. near Warren Avenue and Hampton Way, close to Ashlan and West avenues.

Authorities reported that an air support unit arrived at the scene first, observing a large fight developing in the area. When ground officers arrived, they discovered an unidentified man in his 40s or 50s suffering from at least one gunshot wound inside a residential garage.

Emergency Response and Ongoing Search

Officers immediately initiated life-saving measures at the scene before paramedics arrived and took over medical care. Despite emergency efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the location.

Investigators have not yet released the identity of the victim pending family notification. As the investigation continues, KFSN reported that law enforcement has not yet provided any suspect information or a verified motive. Local authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the shooting or the preceding altercation to contact the Fresno Police Department as inquiries proceed.
