CubicFarms' HydroGreen Launches First Feed-as-a-Service Facility in Kansas, Partnering with Plainview Beef

Content: CubicFarm Systems Corp. has announced the successful launch of its first Feed-as-a-Service (FaaS) facility in Wakeeney, Kansas, through its subsidiary, HydroGreen Inc. Developed in partnership with Plainview Beef, the facility began operations in November 2024, following plans announced in April 2024. The Phase 1 facility produces fresh sprouted feed rich in Omega 3, Omega 6, natural sugars, and enzymes for beef cattle. Following successful three-month feed trials, Plainview Beef has committed to Phase 2 expansion, planning to add 5 GLS 808 modules in 2025. This milestone establishes a recurring revenue model for HydroGreen through direct feed sales to livestock operations. The 18-month partnership aims to provide healthier grass-fed beef options to American consumers while improving bovine health and meat quality.

Plainview Beef Company is a 4th generation family-run beef ranching business based in Jenks, Oklahoma. Plainview Beef is emerging as a leader in the grass-fed beef business, backed by over 100 years of experience in the American beef industry heartland. Plainview takes pride in its long tradition in beef ranching and history of innovation. As they move forward, they are determined to embrace consumer change and respond by raising the healthiest beef cattle possible. Their long history of industry expertise, coupled with their beef industry partners, places Plainview Beef at the forefront of the grass-fed beef market, which they see as a cornerstone of their future and a $500 million annual business.

This partnership is a significant step for both companies. HydroGreen has the opportunity to expand its operations and strengthen its position in the market, while Plainview Beef has the opportunity to improve the quality of its products and make them more attractive to consumers. The project is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy, creating new jobs and stimulating agricultural development.

The successful launch of the facility demonstrates the importance of introducing new technologies in the agricultural sector. The technology developed by HydroGreen provides a sustainable and efficient solution for livestock farming, reducing resource consumption and increasing productivity. This project can serve as an example for other agricultural companies seeking to implement innovative solutions in their operations. It underscores the increasing demand for sustainable and ethically produced food, particularly in the beef industry. Consumers are becoming more conscious of the environmental impact of their food choices and are actively seeking healthier and more sustainable options. The partnership between HydroGreen and Plainview Beef directly addresses this demand by providing grass-fed beef raised using innovative and environmentally friendly practices. This focus on sustainability not only benefits the environment but also enhances the perceived value and quality of the product for consumers.

Furthermore, the Feed-as-a-Service model adopted by HydroGreen represents a significant shift in the agricultural technology sector. By providing a comprehensive solution that includes not only the technology but also ongoing support and maintenance, HydroGreen is making it easier for livestock operations to adopt and implement these innovative feeding practices. This approach reduces the barriers to entry for smaller farms and ranches, allowing them to benefit from the same advanced technologies as larger producers. The potential for widespread adoption of this model across the agricultural landscape could have a transformative impact on the industry, leading to more sustainable and efficient livestock production practices. The long-term implications of this partnership and the broader adoption of FaaS models could include reduced environmental impact, improved animal welfare, and increased access to healthy and sustainably produced food for consumers.
