A Public Statement on Healing

Actor Justin Baldoni has officially broken his silence regarding the conclusion of his high-profile legal battle with co-star Blake Lively. In a nearly five-minute video posted to Instagram on July 7, 2026, Baldoni and his wife, Emily, addressed the emotional toll the litigation has taken on their family over the past year and a half.

The couple expressed gratitude toward supporters who stood by them throughout the conflict, which stemmed from the production of the film It Ends With Us. “We are healing. And if you’ve ever been through something traumatic, you know that healing isn’t linear,” Baldoni stated. He emphasized that during periods when they felt silenced, their supporters provided the necessary voice and intuition to sustain them.

The Legal Context

The legal dispute, which began in December 2024, involved a series of filings including allegations of sexual harassment, retaliation, and defamation. The conflict concluded on May 4, 2026, when both parties agreed to settle the breach of contract and retaliation lawsuit, effectively preventing a trial. The situation remains financially active, however, as Lively filed a request in late June for over $8 million in attorneys’ fees and litigation costs. Baldoni faces a deadline of July 13 to either challenge this claim or settle the amount.

Reflections on the Process

Emily Baldoni used the platform to address what she described as “injustice disguised as a fight for women,” noting that the couple opted to let the justice system run its course rather than engage in a public war of words. “The truth and the facts have spoken for themselves,” she added. While the couple indicated there is much more to be said, they stated their current priority is focusing on their children and moving forward from the trauma.
