The intensity of the comments drew a sharp response from Marjorie Taylor Greene, who resigned from Congress in January following a split with former President Donald Trump. Greene, who has previously been a staunch Trump ally, condemned the posts as “disgusting, hateful, and racist.”
“I 1000% denounce Laura Loomer and her nasty, hateful, racist comments,” Greene wrote on X. “This is Trump’s new MAGA and Republican Party, and I want nothing to do with it.” Greene further argued that Loomer’s proximity to Trump’s inner circle is damaging to the Republican brand, specifically citing the negative impact on the campaign of Florida Senate candidate Ashley Moody, who is running against Nixon.
Loomer’s Escalation and Wider Context
Rather than retreating, Loomer doubled down on her comments throughout the weekend. She repeatedly used the same slurs in follow-up posts and launched personal attacks against Greene, branding her “Marjorie Traitor Greene.” Loomer also alleged that Greene had previously employed British far-right provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos, who was recently detained by U.S. immigration authorities after overstaying his visa—an action Loomer claimed credit for orchestrating.
This incident is part of a broader pattern of controversy surrounding Loomer’s influence in conservative politics. Reports indicate that Loomer’s online activities have previously affected government personnel, including the removal of a CIA officer after Loomer publicly targeted her.
