A 49-year-old man from Wilsonville died in a single-vehicle crash in Shelby County on Sunday, August 30, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA). The incident occurred at approximately 7:37 a.m. near Rocky Road on Shelby County 5.

Authorities identified the victim as Oscar A. Moreno Murcia. According to the preliminary investigation, Murcia’s vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. ALEA officials confirmed that Murcia was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.
