Live Sports and Baseball Classics

Netflix is positioning itself as a central destination for sports-entertainment this summer, integrating live Major League Baseball (MLB) coverage with a specialized library of baseball-themed cinema. Following its inaugural season of MLB streaming, which kicked off with the Yankees-Giants game in March, the platform is set to host the 2026 T-Mobile Home Run Derby on July 13 in Philadelphia.

Beyond the Home Run Derby, the streaming giant has confirmed plans to broadcast the ‘MLB at Field of Dreams’ game in Dyersville, Iowa, on August 13, featuring the Minnesota Twins and the Philadelphia Phillies. To support this sports-centric programming, Netflix has curated a selection of baseball classics, including Moneyball, A League of Their Own, and the 2005 remake of Bad News Bears, providing viewers with historical context alongside live events.

Spotlight on Zoey Deutch

In addition to its sports expansion, Netflix is focusing on actor-driven content, highlighting a collection of projects featuring Zoey Deutch. The rollout is headlined by the release of the romantic dramedy Voicemails for Isabelle, in which Deutch stars as a San Francisco chef navigating grief and new connections.

The curated library also features a range of Deutch’s previous work, including Richard Linklater’s Nouvelle Vague, the political satire The Politician, and the romantic comedy Set It Up. These additions underscore the platform’s strategy of leveraging star-led releases to maintain subscriber engagement throughout the summer months.
