Powertrain and Mechanical Enhancements
The 2027 Silverado 1500 features a significantly upgraded TurboMax 2.7-liter turbocharged I-4 engine, which now produces 350 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque. This unit is now paired exclusively with a 10-speed automatic transmission, replacing the previous eight-speed configuration. For buyers requiring more displacement, Chevrolet has replaced the legacy 5.3-liter V-8 with a new 5.7-liter V-8, delivering 402 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque. The brand’s 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel I-6 remains an option, further broadening the powertrain choices available to consumers.
