The CW network has officially announced that its long-running drama All American will conclude with its upcoming eighth season. The final chapter of the series, which has been a cornerstone of the network’s original scripted programming, is set to premiere on Monday, July 13, at 8/7c.
According to TV Insider, the eighth season consists of 13 episodes, culminating in a series finale scheduled for broadcast on September 28. This decision follows a significant restructuring of The CW under its parent company, Nexstar Media Group, which acquired the network in 2022 and shifted its focus toward unscripted content and international acquisitions.
Series creator Nkechi Okoro Carroll expressed gratitude for the show’s longevity, stating that the production team is pleased to conclude the story as originally envisioned. The final season picks up six months after the events of the previous season’s cliffhanger, focusing on the core themes of football, family, and friendship. The narrative will span a pivotal week in the lives of the Beverly and Crenshaw characters, including Jordan, Layla, and Coop.
All American originally debuted as a breakout hit following the journey of high school football star Spencer James. While the show has undergone significant cast changes—including the departure of lead actor Daniel Ezra after season six—it remains the last original scripted series from the network’s pre-acquisition era still in production.
