While the event promises a historic display of military aviation, local officials have issued an urgent warning to spectators regarding dangerous ocean conditions that coincide with the festivities.

The event, which runs through Sunday, April 12, features the iconic Blue Angels flying F/A-18 Super Hornets in a series of formation maneuvers. Event organizer Bryan Lilley confirmed that the lineup also includes a rare appearance by a B-52 Stratofortress, a massive bomber that has remained in service for over seven decades.
According to Florida Today, the demonstrations are concentrated between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Lori Wilson Park. The performance schedule is designed to showcase the tactical agility of modern combat aircraft, with the Blue Angels performing routines that include inverted passes and high-speed maneuvers. The event has drawn significant attention, with celebrity involvement including a pre-show flight by Backstreet Boys star Howie D, who experienced high-G forces during a training sortie.

Despite the excitement surrounding the aerial displays, Cocoa Beach Fire Chief Justin Grimes has urged the public to exercise extreme caution when entering the water. The National Weather Service has issued a high rip current risk for Brevard County through late Sunday night, citing a combination of large swells and heavy onshore winds.
“We have a big swell and a lot of rip currents, making the beach extremely hazardous,” Grimes stated. Local authorities have increased staffing levels for both fire and police departments to manage the large crowds expected to gather along the two-mile stretch from Westgate Cocoa Beach Pier to Minutemen Causeway. Attendees are advised to swim only near lifeguard stations and avoid venturing beyond waist-deep water.
