Health Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) have issued a series of urgent recall notices for millions of household and food products across Canada this July. The recalls span a wide range of goods, from major grocery staples to safety equipment and kitchen containers.
Among the food products recalled are soups sold nationally at major retailers, including Sobeys, Farm Boy, Foodland, Safeway, IGA, and Whole Foods Market. Additionally, oysters and maple syrup sold in Ontario have been pulled from shelves due to safety concerns. Consumers are advised not to consume, sell, or distribute these items and should return them to the place of purchase or dispose of them immediately.
Product safety recalls are also extensive. Health Canada has flagged over 1.2 million Thermos containers (models SK3000, SK3020, and SK3010) distributed between 2009 and 2026. According to the notice, the stoppers on these food and drink bottles lack necessary pressure relief, posing a risk of laceration and impact injury. Owners are urged to check the model numbers on the bottom of their containers and follow instructions on the IPEX Inc. website.
Other recalled items include horseback riding helmets sold through Decathlon, as well as smoke, gas, and carbon monoxide alarms that may fail to operate correctly. Health Canada has warned that improper labeling and a lack of child-resistant packaging for certain goods could lead to serious illness or injury. For specific details on affected serial numbers and regional availability, residents are encouraged to consult the official Health Canada and CFIA recall databases.
