Medical Emergency Forces Tour Cancellation

Country music star Clint Black has canceled his scheduled performance at the Pearl River Resort Casino in Mississippi, originally set for July 3, 2026, following a sudden medical emergency. According to an official statement released by his management team, the 64-year-old singer was admitted to the hospital on Sunday, June 28, after developing an infection in his tonsils.

The severity of the infection required emergency intravenous antibiotic treatment. While the situation necessitated the immediate cancellation of his upcoming appearance, his team has provided an optimistic update, noting that the artist is currently on the mend. Black is expected to be discharged from the hospital later this week.

Tour Status and Recovery

Management has confirmed that full refunds for the canceled Mississippi performance will be issued from the original point of purchase. While Black’s health remains the priority, the artist is currently slated to resume his “Back on the Blacktop Tour” on July 9 in Minden, Nevada.

It remains unclear if the recovery timeline will impact his participation in the all-star “Nashville’s Star-Spangled Bash,” scheduled for the Fourth of July. The event, which features a wide array of musical artists, is set to be broadcast live on ABC and various streaming platforms.

The recent health setback follows a productive year for the Grammy-winning singer, who recently released his memoir, Killin’ Time: My Life and Music, in May. The book chronicles his decades-long career, which includes 14 albums and a legacy of chart-topping success in the country genre.
