Warner Bros. and Legendary have released a new trailer for Dune: Part Three, the highly anticipated conclusion to director Denis Villeneuve’s epic sci-fi trilogy. The film, which is based on Frank Herbert’s novel Dune Messiah, is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026.
Set 17 years after the events of Dune: Part Two, the new footage highlights the deepening divide between Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) and Chani (Zendaya). The trailer features a tense exchange where Jason Momoa’s Duncan Idaho confronts Paul, suggesting that his conquest of the galaxy has left him “way beyond redemption.”
The film introduces several key cast additions, most notably Robert Pattinson as the villain Scytale and Isaach de Bankolé as Farok. Anya Taylor-Joy also returns in her expanded role as Alia Atreides. The narrative stakes center on the consequences of Paul’s rise to power, with the trailer teasing political maneuvering from Princess Irulan (Florence Pugh) and the mounting human cost of the Atreides regime.
Villeneuve, who directed and co-wrote the script, returns to complete the saga that has grossed over $1.12 billion globally with its previous two installments. Production utilized IMAX cameras to capture the scale of the desert landscape, aiming to conclude the story of Paul’s complex moral journey.
