GAA+ presenter and sports journalist Aisling O’Reilly has publicly announced her pregnancy, revealing the news during the All-Ireland SFC quarter-finals at Croke Park in Dublin this past Saturday. O’Reilly, a well-known figure in Irish sports media, shared the update via a creative, sports-themed video recorded at the iconic GAA headquarters.
The announcement featured O’Reilly dropping an O’Neill’s Gaelic football to reveal her baby bump. She and her husband, Colm Maginn, posted the video to Instagram with the caption, “Our greatest teammate is on the way!” The post quickly drew congratulations from prominent Irish sporting figures, including Jacqui Hurley, Stephanie Roche, and Katie McCabe.
O’Reilly, originally from County Meath, has built a significant career in sports broadcasting, having gained prominence at Newstalk’s Off The Ball before transitioning to freelance work in 2024. She currently serves as a lead presenter for GAA+ live match coverage on Premier Sports and hosts a football magazine program for RTÉ.
O’Reilly and Maginn, who met in New York in 2014 while both playing for Cavan NY, married in Portugal in 2024. The couple, who returned to Ireland in 2016, have been central figures in the Irish sports media landscape for several years.
