Investigators from the Peel Regional Police 11 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau have arrested one man and launched an active manhunt for a second suspect following a violent double stabbing in a Mississauga parking lot. The incident, which police say stemmed from a parking dispute, occurred on Saturday, August 29, in the busy commercial corridor of Dundas Street West and Parkerhill Road.
According to official police reports, officers responded to the scene at approximately 5:00 p.m. following reports of a severe disturbance in the parking lot. Upon arrival, emergency responders located two adult men suffering from serious stab wounds. Both victims were immediately transported to a local hospital, where medical staff managed to stabilize their conditions.
Arrest Made and Attempted Murder Suspect at Large
Peel Regional Police officers quickly saturated the area immediately after the confrontation, leading to the rapid arrest of one individual. Authorities have identified the suspect as 30-year-old Ali Halimi of Mississauga. Halimi has been formally charged with Assault in connection with the altercation.

At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black hoodie, black Nike sweatpants, a black cross-body bag, and white and grey Air Jordan sneakers featuring a black logo. Police have released an image of the suspect and are urging anyone who spots him to refrain from approaching and to call 911 immediately.

According to crime data compiled by the Peel Regional Police covering a 31-day period from July 30 to August 30, there were 361 reported assaults in Mississauga and Brampton. Of these 361 reported crimes, 140 occurred in Mississauga and 214 in Brampton, with the remainder taking place in nearby areas under Peel jurisdiction. Crucially, police data highlights Dundas Street as one of the top 16 regional hotspots for violent altercations, recording five separate assault occurrences within the 31-day window.
The concentration of violent incidents on major thoroughfares like Dundas Street and Hurontario Street has prompted police to reissue safety guidelines for residents navigating public spaces. Law enforcement officials advise motorists to lock their car doors immediately upon entering their vehicles and to avoid lingering in public parking lots, which are frequent sites for sudden escalations of road rage and disputes.
