Engineering the Porsche 911 GT3 S/C for Open-Air Performance

For over 25 years, the GT3 badge has been synonymous with rigid, hardtop configurations optimized for track precision. The introduction of the S/C model challenges this convention without compromising the car’s mechanical identity. At its core, the S/C retains the 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine found in the 992.2-generation GT3, producing 502 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. To ensure the convertible architecture does not impede performance, Porsche utilized lightweight materials derived from the limited-run 911 S/T, including carbon fiber for the hood, fenders, and doors.
