On December 11, Chief of the Criminal Police Department of Armenia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, Vardan Vardanyan, met with a delegation led by Imeda Tsitsashvili, the Regional Attaché of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). The meeting reaffirmed the strengthened cooperation between Armenia and the United States in combating illicit drug trafficking.
Vardanyan emphasized the significance of the partnership with the DEA, highlighting that the fight against illicit drug circulation and prevention is a top priority for the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Imeda Tsitsashvili expressed satisfaction with the progress of the collaboration, noting that the memorandum of cooperation demonstrates the strong and enduring nature of the partnership. He also expressed readiness to expand the scope of cooperation and support new initiatives.
Discussions focused on uncovering cases of illicit drug trafficking, enhancing professional skills and expertise among law enforcement personnel, and strengthening material and technical resources.
The meeting outlined new directions and opportunities for expanding the partnership, aiming to increase the efficiency of joint efforts in combating drug-related crime.
