Participation in Funeral Ceremony
A Holy Mass was offered during the funeral ceremony for the repose of the soul of the departed Pope Francis. Heads and representatives of various Churches were present and had the opportunity to offer their prayers during the service.
Private Prayer on Previous Day
According to the report, the day before the funeral, on April 25, the Catholicos of All Armenians had offered a private prayer for the repose of Pope Francis’s soul inside St. Peter’s Basilica.
Accompanying Delegation
His Holiness Garegin II was accompanied by a delegation from the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The delegation included Archbishop Khajag Parsamyan, Pontifical Legate of Western Europe and Representative of the Catholicos of All Armenians at the Vatican; Archbishop Arshak Khachatryan, Chancellor of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin; Bishop Mushegh Babayan, Director of the Administrative and Economic Department of the Mother See; and Very Rev. Fr. Garegin Hambardzumyan, Director of the Interchurch Relations Department of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
