Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc’s hopes of a podium finish at his home Monaco Grand Prix ended in disappointment on lap 65. The Monegasque driver crashed into the barriers at the final corner during a race restart, following an earlier incident involving Lance Stroll.

Leclerc expressed frustration over the team radio, citing potential brake issues, though the exact cause remains under technical investigation. Former F1 driver Martin Brundle, speaking on Sky Sports, noted that the specific section of the track where the incident occurred has raised concerns about surface conditions, suggesting that the crash might not be entirely attributable to driver error.

The race was red-flagged to allow track officials to inspect the asphalt at Turn 19. At the time of the retirement, Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli and Ferrari teammate Lewis Hamilton were leading the field. Leclerc becomes the sixth driver to retire from the event, joining a list that includes Max Verstappen and Lando Norris.
