Gordon Kaelin McIntyre, the former frontman of the hardcore punk band CDC, has unexpectedly passed away, prompting tributes from former bandmates and fans across the music community. According to a report by SSBCrack News, official details regarding McIntyre’s age and cause of death remain unconfirmed.
Concerns among fans grew following a final post on Facebook, where McIntyre wrote, “What I need is a cigarette,” alongside the phrase, “No more prayers.” Shortly after, news of his death circulated, leading friends and listeners to share tributes online.
In an official public statement, CDC recalled McIntyre joining the ensemble in 2005 on six days’ notice just before their first national coast-to-coast tour. Over the next eight years, McIntyre performed with the band in multiple stretches as they toured internationally. The group highlighted his dedication and resilience during long tours, noting that he embraced the demanding travel schedule and continued working within the music industry after stepping down from his vocalist role.
Following his tenure as CDC’s frontman, McIntyre built a career handling merchandise sales for various touring musical acts across different genres. CDC described him as a dedicated figure on the road whose impact remained integral to the group’s history despite having left active performance with them more than a decade ago.
Bandmate Kurt Fowles also published a personal tribute on Instagram, expressing grief over the loss of a close friend and long-time collaborator with whom he shared years of touring and memories.
