Journalist Megyn Kelly has issued a stern rebuke to those propagating conspiracy theories surrounding the September 2025 assassination of commentator Charlie Kirk. Appearing on Sky News Australia on July 8, Kelly stated that it is time for proponents of these theories to either provide admissible evidence or cease their unsubstantiated claims.
Kirk was fatally shot while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University. The suspect, 23-year-old Tyler Robinson, is currently facing charges of aggravated murder. As Robinson’s preliminary hearing concludes in Utah, Kelly emphasized that the judicial process relies strictly on evidence admissible under state and federal rules, rather than online speculation.
“It doesn’t matter what I believe. It only matters what I can prove,” Kelly said, referencing the legal standard required for a conviction. She described the evidence against Robinson as “overwhelming,” noting that while she remains interested in whether others were aware of the plot beforehand, the immediate focus must be on the legal proceedings against the accused trigger man. Kelly stated that if the case proceeds without jury nullification, she expects a conviction and a potential death sentence, adding that she would not be troubled by such an outcome.
