Samsung Electronics America, in partnership with Barclays US Consumer Bank and Visa, has announced the launch of its first-ever U.S. credit card, the Samsung Galaxy Card. This mobile-first credit card, which officially opens for public applications on July 22, 2026, is designed to integrate directly into the Samsung Wallet ecosystem, offering users a seamless way to manage finances and earn rewards on everyday purchases.

According to the official announcement, the card carries no annual fee and features a tiered cash rewards structure. Cardmembers will earn 5% cash rewards on direct Samsung purchases, including Galaxy devices, home appliances, and digital services purchased through Samsung.com, Experience Stores, and the Shop App. Additionally, the card offers 3% cash rewards on transactions made using Samsung Wallet, 2% back on eligible streaming subscriptions such as Netflix, Disney+, and Spotify, and 1% on all other purchases. Qualifying new cardholders can also earn a $200 cash reward bonus after spending $2,000 within the first 90 days of account opening, alongside a 20% discount on Samsung VIP Advantage memberships.

The Samsung Galaxy Card is designed to be instantly provisioned as a virtual card in Samsung Wallet upon approval. For physical transactions, cardmembers receive a premium metal credit card featuring a matte black finish and a sleek black Samsung logo. On-device security for the digital wallet experience is managed through Samsung’s Knox defense-grade security platform. To utilize the virtual integration, users require a compatible Galaxy device running Android 9.0 or later and an active Samsung account.

Woncheol Chai, Executive Vice President and Head of the Digital Wallet Team at Samsung Electronics, framed the launch as a major milestone to deliver more connected and rewarding payment experiences. Denny Nealon, CEO of Barclays US Consumer Bank, emphasized that the partnership aligns with Barclays’ partner-first strategy to expand its digital banking footprint in the United States. While the promotional rewards are prominent, the companies noted that individual credit approval is required, and the complete cardholder agreement containing specific interest rates and fees will be made available when applications officially launch on July 22.
