Polyphony Digital has showcased new gameplay footage of the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo running inside Gran Turismo 7 for the first time. The presentation took place during Round 3 of the 2026 Gran Turismo World Series in Singapore on October 3, offering fans an initial look at the electric concept hypercar in action ahead of its official integration into the game.

The vehicle is scheduled to arrive as part of the major Spec IV update slated for October. According to Gran Turismo, the collaboration marks a significant milestone as Xiaomi becomes the first Chinese brand and the first technology company to join the long-running Vision Gran Turismo project.

Aerodynamic Design and Development

The Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo was created specifically for Polyphony Digital’s concept car programme following an invitation from series creator Kazunori Yamauchi. Shaped under the direction of design chief Tianyuan Li, who spent nearly a decade at BMW before joining the Beijing-based automaker in 2021, the vehicle’s design was a collaborative effort among Xiaomi’s studios in Shanghai, Beijing, and Munich.

Unlike production road cars constrained by homologation and packaging rules, the Vision Gran Turismo was built entirely around aerodynamic efficiency. As detailed by MotorTrend, the car features a teardrop-shaped central body where every structural member, including the suspension control arms, utilizes an airfoil cross-section. Air enters from the front, flows through sculpted passages under and around the body, and exits through a rear outlet framed by a halo-shaped taillight.

Additional aerodynamic innovations include the Active Wake Control System, which uses micro-perforations around the rear light to reduce turbulence. The vehicle also incorporates ‘Accretion Rims’ featuring aerodynamic covers and turbine-style internal structures designed to direct cooling air toward the brakes while minimizing rotational drag. Xiaomi claims the concept achieves a drag coefficient of 0.29.

Integration Into Gran Turismo 7 Spec IV

The Singapore exhibition marks the transition of the vehicle from a physical concept—which was originally unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in March 2026—into a playable digital asset. The car follows the January 2026 introduction of the production-based Xiaomi SU7 Ultra into the simulation.

The upcoming Spec IV update will introduce the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo alongside five other vehicles in its first wave, accompanied by the addition of Sportsland SUGO, a new opening cinematic, and features such as Vintage, Car Concierge, Experience, and Car Viewer. A second Spec IV update is scheduled for December, bringing another six cars and the Autumn Ring circuit.

Polyphony Digital has not yet disclosed final in-game performance figures, power outputs, weight ratings, or Brand Central pricing for the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo. Further details regarding its cockpit functionality and exact release date within October are expected closer to the update’s deployment.
