A Milestone Performance
The Barrie Air Show returns to the skies over Kempenfelt Bay this weekend, June 13-14, 2026. The event, presented by Pratt Homes, serves as a high-profile stop for the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, who are currently in their final season operating the iconic CT-114 Tutor jets.
Event Schedule and Logistics
Programming begins Saturday at 12 p.m. with military displays and vendor activities throughout downtown Barrie and the waterfront. A twilight show is scheduled for 6 p.m., followed by a fireworks display at 10 p.m. On Sunday, activities commence at 10 a.m., with air performances beginning at 1 p.m. The Muskoka Extreme water ski show will provide additional entertainment on both days.
Safety and First Responder Preparedness
Ahead of the event, local emergency services held intensive training sessions at the Lake Simcoe Regional Airport. According to CTV News, police, fire, and paramedic units, alongside military personnel, conducted drills to familiarize themselves with aircraft emergency systems. Constable Doug Bosch of the Barrie Police confirmed that 14 first-responder boats will be stationed in Kempenfelt Bay throughout the weekend to ensure rapid response capabilities. Assistant Deputy Chief Thomas Vezruki of Barrie Fire emphasized that these months of preparation are critical for maintaining public safety during the high-density event.
The event is free to the public, with viewing areas concentrated along the waterfront. Organizers note that all performances remain subject to weather conditions, safety requirements, and aircraft readiness.
