As the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft, the 18-year-old enters the league with immense expectations. While rookie players typically err on the side of caution by participating in every available session, McKenna chose rest and preparation over taking the ice for Tuesday’s optional skate, which featured only 12 players.
