NEW DELHI (Azat TV) – The National Testing Agency (NTA) has finalized operational protocols for the 2026 Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG), which is scheduled to commence on May 11 and conclude on May 31. As thousands of students prepare for the computer-based test (CBT) across 306 cities in India and 15 international locations, the agency has issued comprehensive mandates regarding admit card retrieval, mandatory dress codes, and strict prohibitions on personal items to ensure exam integrity.
Navigating the CUET UG 2026 Admit Card Requirements
The NTA officially released the initial phase of admit cards on May 5, accessible via the official portal at cuet.nta.nic.in. Candidates are required to log in using their unique application numbers and dates of birth to retrieve their documents. With the exam window approaching, officials have signaled that a revised set of admit cards is expected by May 10. It is critical that students verify all information on their hall tickets—including photograph accuracy, shift timings, and specific exam center designations—as entry will be strictly denied to those without a valid, printed copy of the document alongside a government-issued photo ID.
Strict Dress Code and Security Frisking Protocols
To facilitate efficient security checks, the NTA has implemented a clear advisory on attire. Candidates are strongly encouraged to wear light-colored, simple clothing. While the agency emphasizes comfort, heavy accessories, fashion jewelry, and metallic items are strictly prohibited to streamline the frisking process. Students with specific religious requirements, such as wearing a ‘kalava’ or needing to wear woolens due to local weather conditions, are permitted to do so provided they report to their designated test centers well in advance of the gate closing time to allow for the necessary additional security screening.
Prohibited Items and Exam Hall Integrity
The NTA has maintained a zero-tolerance policy regarding unauthorized items within the examination halls. Candidates are expressly forbidden from bringing any electronic devices, including smartphones, smartwatches, Bluetooth peripherals, calculators, and fitness bands. Furthermore, stationery items like pencil boxes, geometry sets, and paper are not permitted; the testing centers provide the necessary materials. Only a transparent water bottle, a 50ml sanitizer, and essential medical items for diabetic candidates are allowed inside the facility. Any student found in possession of prohibited items risks immediate disqualification from the 2026 session.
The synchronization of these updated protocols suggests an intensified focus by the NTA on mitigating logistical bottlenecks and security risks as the scale of the CUET UG continues to expand globally, reflecting the growing pressure on standardized testing infrastructure to maintain absolute uniformity in high-stakes university admissions.
